In the beginning
Over the years we have built on our commitment to provide high-quality food for everyone in the UK by developing a range of baby foods and products. For instance in 1994 we bought the famous Farley’s Rusk brand and we now look after Farley’s milks, as well as making Heinz Baby Foods and Mum’s Own range of mum-inspired meals. Food stuff
All of our baby food is triple-tested for quality, safety, purity and nutrient value, so you know you can trust it completely. There is no added salt in any of our baby range products, plus we have introduced a range of organic foods to meet mums’ growing demands for good food for their babies every day. In addition to the extended organic jars range, which includes fruit and vegetable purées and simple meals, we are also launching a range of organic cereals and juices.

Milestones
- 1931: Heinz launches baby food.
- 1963: A range of baby foods in glass is made at the Kitt Green factory, one of the biggest and most modern facilities in Europe.
- 1975: Heinz removes all salt from its baby foods.
- 1976: Heinz introduces a range of gluten-free baby foods to help care for babies with coeliac, a serious digestive disorder.
- 1979: onwards: Heinz launches baby fruit yoghurts, weaning foods, dried baby products and a range of Pure Fruits with no added sugar.
- 1994: Farley’s joins Heinz family of companies.
- 2002: We introduce the organic Simply Fruit and Simply Vegetable ranges, as well as Just Add sauces and Farley’s Bear biscuits.
- 2004: The Mum’s Own brand launches in the UK – using recipes from real mums to produce top quality baby food that has passed the ultimate test and already been a hit with babies in the UK.
- 2005: A brand new innovative product – Mum’s Ingredients – is launched to help mums make homemade recipes. The jars contain purees of meat, fish or vegetables which can then be added to home-cooked ingredients to make up baby’s favourite meals – another first from Heinz.
- 2005: Launched Toddler's Own tray meals and finger foods - specially developed for children 12 months plus.
- 2005: Relaunched organic range as Simply Organic with tasty new recipes and great new design.
Latest news
Our unique Mum’s Own range of baby foods is based on real mums’ recipes. We held a competition asking mums to send in their own recipes, which has led to a range of 17 brand-new savoury meals. With appetising meals on the menu such as Caribbean Casserole with Pork and Pumpkin Swede and Lamb, you’ll need to make sure there’s some left for baby.
