Since Henry John Heinz made his first international sale to London's Fortnum & Mason in 1886, we've believed in a right way to do things - making great tasting food, improving the wellbeing of families and always aiming to be the best when it comes to nutrition, customer service and employee talent. Thanks to this continued pursuit of excellence, our UK & Ireland business has grown consistently over the last four years (it now generates $1.7 billion in sales and is a key market in Europe). Our supply chain now consists of six factories, including Kitt Green near Wigan - Europe's largest food factory - which produces more than one billion cans a year.

Although Heinz is a large global organisation, decisions are made at a local level. This formula enables our people to make autonomous decisions resulting in agile approaches to market opportunities; another factor which contributes to our success.
